atop is a full-screen performance monitoring tool that provides detailed reports about all system processes, including those that have already terminated. It does this by continuously logging system activity at regular intervals, storing that information for later use.

These logs can be used for various purposes such as system analysis, performance tuning, identifying bottlenecks, debugging issues, or tracing the cause of an unexpected overload.

Unlike traditional tools like top or htop, which only show live system data, atop gives you the ability to look back in time and inspect exactly what was happening during any logged interval, which makes it especially valuable for system administrators for keeping servers running smoothly.

I remember the day I installed Fedora on my Pulse 15 Linux laptop and found how hard it was to install the TUXEDO Control Center. The only options I had were compiling from source or adding an unofficial COPR repository, which felt unsafe (not certainly, but possibly) and was often outdated.

Fortunately, that’s no longer the case. TUXEDO Computers now offers a well-maintained official repository for Fedora. This means we can now officially install the latest stable version of the TUXEDO software and drivers, easily and safely.

Few, if any, web sites or web-based services have gone unscathed by the locust-like hordes of AI crawlers looking to consume (and then re-consume) all of the world's content. The Anubis project is designed to provide a first line of defense that blocks mindless bots—while granting real users access to sites without too much hassle. Anubis is a young project, not even a year old. However, its development is moving quickly, and the project seems to be enjoying rapid adoption. The most recent release of Anubis, version 1.20.0, includes a feature that many users have been interested in since the project launched: support for challenging clients without requiring users to have JavaScript turned on.

RebornOS is a desktop-oriented Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. Although the RebornOS live image provides one desktop only, the installation process offers a choice to install one of the many popular desktop environments and window managers. Other interesting features of the distribution include support for Flatpak packages, optional installation of Anbox for running Android applications, a capability to rollback the system to a previous date, and graphical system configuration and maintenance tools.

SmartOS is an open-source UNIX-like operating system based on illumos, a community fork of OpenSolaris. It features four technologies - ZFS (a combined file system and logical volume manager), DTrace (a dynamic tracing framework for troubleshooting kernel and application problems), Zones (a lightweight virtualisation solution), KVM and bhyve (two full virtualisation solutions for running a variety of guest operating systems, including Linux, Windows, BSD and Plan9). SmartOS is designed to be particularly suitable for building clouds and generating appliances.

Greg Kroah-Hartman has released the 6.15.6, 6.12.37, 6.6.97, 6.1.144, and 5.15.187 stable kernels. As is the usual case, each contains important fixes all over the kernel tree.
