Manjaro Linux is a fast, user-friendly, desktop-oriented operating system based on Arch Linux. Key features include intuitive installation process, automatic hardware detection, stable rolling-release model, ability to install multiple kernels, special Bash scripts for managing graphics drivers and extensive desktop configurability. Manjaro Linux offers Xfce as the core desktop options, as well as KDE, GNOME and a minimalist Net edition for more advanced users. Community-supported desktop flavours are also available.

TobbeOS is a minimalist, Arch-based Linux distribution featuring the Qtile tiling window manager. It provides a network installation image with a simple script that guides the user through the installation process; it downloads and installs the latest packages from Arch Linux repositories. The script offers a choice between the Btrfs and ext4 filesystem. TobbeOS also provides a pre-configured Emacs editor, while the default web browser is a privacy-focused Firefox fork called Zen Browser.

FUSS is a Debian-based Linux distribution for managing an educational network. It provides server, thin client and desktop solutions based on free software that go beyond any economic or technical reasons, maintaining an ethical choice of freedom and knowledge sharing. FUSS, which stands for "Free Upgrade in South Tyrol's Schools" started in 2005 in Italy's autonomous province of Bolza, with the aim of bringing free software to schools.

FreeBSD is a UNIX-like operating system for the i386, amd64, IA-64, arm, MIPS, powerpc, ppc64, PC-98 and UltraSPARC platforms based on U.C. Berkeley's "4.4BSD-Lite" release, with some "4.4BSD-Lite2" enhancements. It is also based indirectly on William Jolitz's port of U.C. Berkeley's "Net/2" to the i386, known as "386BSD", though very little of the 386BSD code remains. FreeBSD is used by companies, Internet Service Providers, researchers, computer professionals, students and home users all over the world in their work, education and recreation. FreeBSD comes with over 20,000 packages (pre-compiled software that is bundled for easy installation), covering a wide range of areas: from server software, databases and web servers, to desktop software, games, web browsers and business software - all free and easy to install.

FydeOS, developed by Fyde Innovations, is a lightweight operating system that carries a Linux kernel, a browser platform and a container technology driver. It is very similar to Google ChromeOS in use. FydeOS supports the latest web application standards, and is able to run Android and Linux applications (by activating the included Android and Debian subsystems), providing a Google Chromebook-like experience. Users have a choice to use cloud services provided by Google, services powered by Fyde Innovations, or a local account. FydeOS is based on the open-source ChromiumOS and includes the Chromium browser; it is available free of charge for most standard Intel/AMD personal computers.

ATZ Linux (铜豌豆 Linux) is a Chinese Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. The project's main goal is to package software that is commonly used in China for easy installation; some examples of such software include QQ instant messaging utility, WeChat social media application, Baidu Netdisk file sharing tool, Sogou input method, NetEase cloud music software, Youdao dictionary, WPS Office, as well as additional Chinese fonts and dictionaries. ATZ Linux remains compatible with Debian and provides an official China-based mirror for software installation.

ShredOS is a small live Linux distribution whose sole purpose is to securely erase the contents of disks. It can boot from a USB device, CD or DVD and it supports both BIOS and UEFI booting. The system boots directly into nwipe, a program that securely erases the contents of block devices; it can wipe a single drive or multiple disks in parallel. After booting the system, the user can select a disk to erase, together with one of the various erasure methods, such as "Fill With Zeros", "Fill With Ones", RCMP TSSIT OPS-II, DoD, Gutmann Wipe, PRNG Stream, Schneier Wipe, BMB21-2019 and others. The nwipe program automatically starts its ncurses-based interface in the first virtual terminal (ALT-F1), while other useful tools, such as hdparm, smartmontools and hexeditor can be run in the second virtual terminal (ALT-F2). ShredOS is available in "Standard" and "Lite" editions, with the latter able to run on computers with as little as 512 MB of RAM.

Security Onion is a specialist, security-oriented Linux distribution based on Oracle Linux. It is a free and open platform for threat hunting, enterprise security monitoring and log management. It includes custom interfaces for alerting, dashboards, hunting, PCAP, detections and case management. It also includes other tools, such as osquery (a tool for exploring and monitoring operating system data with SQL queries), CyberChef (a web application for encryption, encoding, compression and data analysis), Elasticsearch (a data search engine), Logstash (a data collection and processing engine), Kibana (a data visualization plugin for Elasticsearch), Suricata (an intrusion detection and prevention system) and Zeek (a software network analysis framework).

Arcris is a live Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. It comes with an intuitive and beginner-friendly graphical installer that can be used to build a complete Arch Linux system. AcrisGUI, as the installation program is called, is built with the GTK toolkit and libadwaita interface library; it is designed primarily for Spanish-speaking users.

Flora Linux-libre is a Linux distribution that uses the Linux-libre kernel, a modified version of the Linux kernel that contains no binary blobs, obfuscated code, or code released under proprietary licenses. It also excludes any non-free firmware. The project rebuilds Debian's "Stable" and some other Debian derivatives, such as MX Linux, and creates a "libre" flavour of those distributions with either MATE or Xfce desktop. Flora Linux-libre also comes with snapshot tools and installers that enable easy remastering of the distribution, as well as uim (short for universal input method), a multilingual input method framework.

Proxmox is a commercial company offering specialised products based on Debian GNU/Linux, notably Proxmox Virtual Environment and Proxmox Mail Gateway. Proxmox Virtual Environment is an open-source virtualisation platform for running virtual appliances and virtual machines. Proxmox Mail Gateway is a mail gateway with anti-spam and anti-virus features. The products are offered as free downloads with paid-for support and subscription options.

BSD Router Project (BSDRP) is an embedded free and open-source router distribution based on FreeBSD with Quagga (a software routing suite) and BIRD (an open-source implementation for routing Internet Protocol packets). Unlike other embedded networking tools, BSDRP focuses exclusively on routing packets and not on advanced firewall techniques. Additional functionality can be added to the operating system via FreeBSD's ports collection.

Slimbook OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution customised for the Slimbook line of Linux computers assembled in Spain. It offers a choice of GNOME or KDE Plasma desktops on a single ISO image which also includes some custom extensions and utilities. The distribution provides its own repositories for some software, prioritising DEB and Flatpak packages over Ubuntu's snap options. Some of the other interesting features of Slimbook OS include touchpad gestures (enabled by default), Slimbook service notifications, window tiling, the Terminator terminal emulator, a Ulauncher application for fast searching, and a day/night mode switcher.

Ditana GNU/Linux is an Arch-based Linux distribution that bridges the gap between user-friendly systems and highly customizable environments. It aims to empower Linux enthusiasts with unprecedented control over their computing experience while maintaining a strong focus on security and performance. The project provides a flexible, text-based system installer with extensive customisation options, an Xfce desktop environment with pre-installed enhancements, a modular structure, pre-configured security features and kernel settings, and intelligent hardware and system optimisations for peak performance.

MidnightBSD is a FreeBSD-derived operating system. A critical goal of the project is to create an easy-to-use desktop environment with graphical ports management, and system configuration using GNUstep. The vast majority of the operating system will maintain a BSD license. MidnightBSD was forked from FreeBSD 6.1 beta.

PureOS is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian. It is a desktop distribution that can be used as live media (CD or USB) or as full-featured operating systems installed on a hard disk. PureOS uses free and open source software exclusively and is endorsed by the Free Software Foundation. It ships with some privacy features enabled by default such as using DuckDuckGo as the search engine and the HTTPS Everywhere browser extension is enabled.

Nitrux is a desktop Linux distribution built from Debian, but with an immutable base system, the OpenRC init system, and without any traditional Debian package management tools. It uses the Calamares system installer and includes the Hyprland window manager, Hypr utilities, the greetd+QtGreet login manager, and the Waybar Wayland bar. Nitrux emphasizes the use of AppBox to manage end-user software and it also supports AppImage and Flatpak package formats.

Quarkos is a desktop Linux distribution based on Ubuntu's long-term support branch, with a choice of two user interfaces - the modern KDE Plasma desktop or the lightweight Trinity desktop environment (a fork of KDE 3.5). It is a sister project of the Debian-based Q4OS distribution.

The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is a Debian-based live DVD/USB with the goal of providing complete Internet anonymity for the user. The product ships with several Internet applications, including web browser, IRC client, mail client and instant messenger, all pre-configured with security in mind and with all traffic anonymised. To achieve this, Incognito uses the Tor network to make Internet traffic very hard to trace.

Porteus is a fast, portable and modular live CD/USB medium based on Slackware Linux. The distribution started as a community remix of Slax, another Slackware-based live CD, with KDE 3 as the default desktop for the i486 edition and a stripped-down KDE 4 as the desktop environment for the x86_64 flavour. There are now several desktop flavours of the distribution, which include editions running Cinnamon, GNOME, KDE Plasma, LXQt, MATE, and Xfce.
