MODICIA O.S. is a Linux multimedia distribution designed primarily for musicians, graphic designers and video makers. It is based on Debian's "stable" branch, but uses the Cinnamon desktop and a recent Linux kernel. MODICIA O.S. comes with a set of carefully-selected, open-source multimedia software and tools, such as Audacity (audio editor), Brasero (disc-burning utility), Cheese (webcam application), Curlew (multimedia converter), GIMP (graphics editor), HandBrake (video transcoder), Kdenlive (video editor), MediaInfo (tool that provides technical data about media files), mpv (media player), Peek (animated GIF recorder), RawTherapee (photo processor), XnView (image viewer), and many others. The distribution also integrates the OnlyOffice software suite for general office tasks.

Window Maker Live is a Debian-based Linux distribution that applies the Window Maker window manager as the default graphical user interface and integrates well-known open-source components in an attractive and usable user interface. The distribution includes integrated GNOME components.

Hardenwing OS (formerly Hardened Slarpx) is a security-focused Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. It adopts a multi-layered defense architecture against cyber attacks, incorporating aggressive mitigation techniques alongside kernel, system and network-hardening configurations. The distribution offers comprehensive security measures, including BadUSB protection, permission-hardening services, package manager hardening, module blacklisting, PAM and sudoers hardening. Due to its strict firewall policy, anonymisation tools are not supported; the system enforces Quad9 DNS and allows only basic internet access. Hardenwing OS boots into the standard Debian Installer which installs a customised GNOME desktop with Wayland display server.

Gnoppix AI Linux is a Debian-based distribution which can be run from a USB thumb drive or from a local drive. It is pre-loaded with essential Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, libraries and development tools. It uses several popular desktop environments, including GNOME, KDE Plasma and Xfce. The project is an attempt to revive a Knoppix-based live distribution with the GNOME desktop that was first launched back in 2002.

Armbian is a Linux distribution designed for ARM development boards. It is usually based on one of the stable or development versions of Debian or Ubuntu and it supports a wide variety of popular ARM-based devices, including Banana Pi, Cubieboard, Olimex, Orange Pi, Odroid, Pine64 and others. Armbian includes a menu-driven configuration tool along with stock Debian utilities, the Bash shell, and a choice of Cinnamon or Xfce desktop.

Br OS is a Brazilian Linux distribution based on Debian and featuring the KDE Plasma desktop. It is designed as an intuitive, easy-to-use, general-purpose operating system for web navigation and content creation, providing a selection of useful applications for daily use.

TileOS is a Debian-based desktop Linux distribution featuring a selection of several Wayland tiling compositors, notably Sway, River, Qtile and miracle-wm. It is based on the latest stable Debian release, with some packages, such as the Mesa graphics drivers, back-ported from Debian's "Testing" repository. The distribution comes with many device drivers and non-free firmware included in the base system, some performance optimizations and system tweaks, additional repositories for installing programs not found in Debian (such as OnlyOffice, VirtualBox, Librewolf, Visual Studio Code and Brave), and the Calamares system installer.

The OpenBSD project produces a free, multi-platform BSD 4.4-based UNIX-like operating system. Its efforts emphasize portability, standardisation, correctness, proactive security and integrated cryptography. The project also develops the widely-used and popular OpenSSH (OpenBSD Secure Shell) software, which provides encrypted communication sessions over a computer network using the SSH protocol.

DietPi is a Debian-based Linux distribution, primarily developed for single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi or Odroid. It also supplies builds for 64-bit x86 personal computers and virtual machines, including VMware, VirtualBox, UTM, Hyper-V, Proxmox and Parallels. The base installation of DietPi comes without any desktop, but a desktop option can be activated via the built-in "dietpi-software" program. The distribution ships with a number of menu-driven configuration tools which can be run from the terminal.

Vendefoul Wolf is a set of lightweight, Devuan-based Linux distributions featuring various popular desktop environments, including Budgie, Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, LXQt, Trinity and Xfce. As the init software, it offers a choice between SysV and runit. Some of the distribution's other main features include the LibreWolf web browser, the Calamares system installer, an application store, and its own repository of software packages. Besides the main edition, Vendefoul Wolf also produces various community spins with alternative desktops and window managers.

Zenclora OS is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch, featuring a customised GNOME desktop. One of its more interesting features is the integration of custom package and system management commands, such as "update" (to update the entire system), "cleanup" (to clean up the system and free up space), "install-flatpak", "install-steam", "install-chrome", "install-liquorix" (to install the Flatpak utility, Steam gaming client, Chrome browser or Liquorix kernel), and many others. It also offers quick network and system information overviews with "net-info" and "zenclora-fetch" commands. The distribution is optimised for stability and intensive daily use.

Q4OS is a Debian-based desktop Linux distribution offering a choice of a classic-style user interface (Trinity) and a modern desktop environment (KDE Plasma). The project also develops various utilities, such as Desktop Profiler and Software Center, as well as installers for third-party applications.

NetHydra (formerly HydraPWK GNU/Linux) is a Debian-based distribution designed primarily for penetration testing. It contains a collection of penetration testing tools, including tools for information gathering, scanning, stress testing, exploitation, cracking, reversing engineering and forensics. Formerly known as BlackTrack, the distribution uses a real-time Linux kernel and features the Xfce desktop.

NebiOS is an Ubuntu-based desktop Linux distribution with a custom Wayland compositor called NebiDE (based on Wayfire). It features various user interface enhancements, an initial setup module called OOBE, the NebiOS App Runtime (napp-runtime) portable application format with bubblewrap containerization, improved gaming performance with Steam Proton integration, a kernel switcher for easy multi-kernel installation, and the Wine compatibility layer for running some Windows applications. NebiOS is intended as a general-purpose operating system for daily computing tasks, including creative work and gaming.

EznixOS is a live Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. It offers three editions of the product, containing a customised Xfce desktop (with extra software), a non-customised Xfce desktop, and a non-customised KDE Plasma desktop. It can be installed to a hard disk using the standard Calamares system installer. Besides the three Debian spins, the project also develops and distributes files, scripts and documentation for building customised live Debian images.

Linux Q83 is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. Depending on the edition, it comes either with the Cinnamon desktop environment (a fork of GNOME created by Linux Mint), or COSMIC (a modern graphical desktop interface written in the Rust programming language, developed by System76). The distribution is available for Raspberry Pi and Radxa Orion O6 single-board computers, as well as standard desktops and workstations. Linux Q83 also comes with its own lightweight and resource-efficient web browser called W3.

nakeDeb is a minimalist desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch and designed for more advanced Linux users. By default it uses the Fluxbox window manager, although an alternative session with i3 is also available. The distribution provides a simple text-mode system installer and custom repositories with extra software, including various utilities and themes. It comes with the w3m web browser and a script to download and install the latest Tor Browser, and it also includes the PCManFM file manager and mpv media player. makeDeb offers support for French and English languages.

Butterbian is a Debian-based Linux distribution with out-of-the-box support for the Btrfs filesystem and pre-configured Timeshift, an application that takes incremental snapshots of the installed filesystem at regular intervals. These snapshots can be restored, directly from the GRUB menu, to undo all changes to the system. Butterbian boots into a themed Xfce desktop and uses the Calamares system installer. Besides Butterbian, the project also develops Butterknife, a command-line only live image with a text-mode system installer that provides more choices in terms of filesystems and window managers.

Debian Edu/Skolelinux is the Debian-edu's Debian Pure Blend distribution. It is aiming to provide an out-of-the-box localised environment tailored for schools and universities. The out-of-the-box environment comes with 75 applications aimed at schools, as well as 17 network services pre-configured for a school environment. The simple, three-question installation requires minimal technical knowledge. Skolelinux is Debian, which means, among other things, that there are no license costs or worries, and that upgrade and maintenance of the software can be done over the Internet with the power of Debian's apt-get. The core goals of Skolelinux are localisation and ease of system administration.

The Debian Project is an association of individuals who have made common cause to create a free operating system. This operating system is called Debian. Debian systems currently use the Linux kernel. Linux is a completely free piece of software started by Linus Torvalds and supported by thousands of programmers worldwide. Of course, the thing that people want is application software: programs to help them get what they want to do done, from editing documents to running a business to playing games to writing more software. Debian comes with over 50,000 packages (precompiled software that is bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine) - all of it free. It's a bit like a tower. At the base is the kernel. On top of that are all the basic tools. Next is all the software that you run on the computer. At the top of the tower is Debian -- carefully organizing and fitting everything so it all works together.
